Last week Snapchat launched Spotlight, a feature very similar to Instagram Reels and TikTok. How it works: users can submit videos for a chance to be featured on the scrollable feed on Snapchat. Snapchat says top creators can even earn a share of $1 million every day. The scrollable feed can be found on the Snapchat app by locating the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen and tapping the play icon on the far right.
Looks like Snapchat couldn’t resist joining in on the short-form video fun. To me, it seems like a knock-off TikTok because there is less user to user engagement such as public comments and video duets. Hopefully, Snapchat can add more user engagement features soon.
